Nothing posted here since December 2004? Does anyone still checkin here? Does Howard Dean read this?
I'm sure many "Dean Leaders" would like to give the good doctor a bit of advice from time to time in his curent role as DNC chair. Seems like this would be a good place to do that if we could get him in the loop.
So, is anybody out there?

Blog comments about the disconnect with HQ

From the DFA Day in the Life: Chris Warshaw thread

I still have some holiday preparations (lots, actually) to work on today, but I wanted to repost something from a couple nights ago, because I haven't yet seen it addressed. Once upon a time I would have really appreciated a post about "what it's like at HQ", but since we are still struggling with this disconnect, it just doesn't have the same effect...
Click my name for the thread "Ohio Urged to Veto Bill". Some highlight's I'd like to draw to your attention:
What *is* this obsession with Ohio all of a sudden?

Oops--I didn't pay attention and notice which blog I was posting this in. It was meant to be posted in my new blog, Ohio Counts. Suppose this is as good a time as any to tell you about my new blog. ;-)

This is from a Daily Kos diary by buckeye prof. It refers to an article in the Columbus Dispatch entitled More Voting Questions Raised. For anyone unfamiliar with the Dispatch, it is a site that requires registration, and it is not free registration like the New York Times and others. Registration to read articles online is $4.95 a month if you are not a subscriber to the... (more)

Bush not a "likeable guy"--everyday analogies

I started a thread about this over at Kos, but wanted to be able to collect responses somewhere that didn't require an account. So take a look at the ideas over there, and post your own thoughts here.

W is for Women because...

...because there's nothing we love more than a man who won't admit when he's wrong!
(My husband just made this into a bumper sticker, by the way.)

I've been thinking about the whole "nice, regular guy" thing that Bush supposedly has going for him, and how to counter it. Thinking back to the "security mom" theme, and how, it would feel anything but secure to... (more)

Some of you know of DeanPort.com -- the portal / 1-page directory I built for use in the Dean campaign. It helped to aggregate all the various resources and groups -- organize them -- and put them all on one page for easy understanding of which resources were available at various stages of involvement.. from "I know nothing about Dean; tell me about him" --> "That sounds good; I'd like to volunteer. Where do I start?" --> "Now that I'm helping, can we have one place where all our day-to-day tools and resources can be accessed?"

That's how DeanPort was designed -- and it worked, and... (more)

John Fogerty's New Album, It's Like DeJa VU All Over Again, is being released in September. Here are the words to the title track. Lest any of us forget...

DEJA VU (ALL OVER AGAIN)

Did you hear 'em talkin' 'bout it on the radio

Did you try to read the writing on the wall

Did that voice inside you say I've heard it all before

It's like DEJA VU all over again

Day by day I hear the voices rising

Started with a whisper like it did before

Day by day we count the dead and dying

Ship the bodies home while the networks all keep score

Did you hear 'em talkin' 'bout it on... (more)

The birth of (half of a) Flat John Kerry

Just gonna tell this story in BFA comments, okay?

big...
heavy...
sigh!
I was just talking to my mom on the phone, and she was reading something to me about an AARP RV tour thing (that she and my dad won't be attending). It involved a chance to learn about the candidates, and you could have your picture taken with a life-size cardboard cutout of a candidate. Mom was wondering, I guess, if Demetrius had anything to do with creating one of those.
Now Demetrius is working on another attempt to create a Flat John Kerry. I ventured back to the Kerry-Edwards site to try to find good... (more)

Can anyone tell me how to get to DeanPhotos? I've tried every link to get there and it's gone. I tried going in through DeanLeaders, no go. I've tried my link for DeanPix and DeanPhotos - no go. I want to see the quilt Ann did for Dean! Anyone know how to get there from here?

Thanks,

Continuing a much needed discussion which started at Blog for America...

And since it seems that Tara is reading the blog, FWIW it would be helpful to have a blog entry with a link to Dean's article of the week. I never remember which week he's published and don't always check.

I suspect they can't link to Dean's columns. At one point someone said they had to stay at arm's length from anything Dean was paid to do, because of the financing rules.

Positive thoughts/prayers for Kimmy's sister

I know people who read this blog are probably familiar with Kimmy, who has posted here in the past--most famously when she posted a message to Howard Dean and he responded in the thread. Right now Kimmy's sister is in the hospital in Dallas and is very ill. She and Frankie have both been posting updates in the Blog for America comments, and I have collected most of them here for anyone who wanted to know what is going on but didn't want to sift through days of threads.

The doctors have said that Christy has sepsis, but have been unable to diagnose the cause, and are only able to treat the... (more)
